Persian traditional medicine
The history of Persian (Iranian) traditional medicine (PTM) is as old as Iranian civilization, and the earliest records of it date back to more than 5000 years. It is a holistic medicine and focuses not only on the physical aspects of man, but also pays attention to his spiritual qualities.
PTM believes in four classical elements that form the basis of all creation: earth, fire, air and water. Based on the dominance of each element, the temperament (Mizaj) - a set of physical and mental qualities - is formed. These temperaments are divided into nine categories: warm, cold, wet, dry, warm and dry, warm and wet, cold and dry, cold and wet and temperate. A temperate mood is one in which none of the qualities predominates.
In PTM, health maintenance takes priority over treatment, and proper principles of lifestyle based on each person’s circumstances are presented in the form of “health maintenance principles.”
In order to correctly diagnose the factor that disturbs the physical balance and carry out appropriate treatment, the health of all parts of the body, genetics, living conditions, mental characteristics, age, geography, etc. are taken into account.
For treatment, the person's lifestyle and especially diet should first be corrected. Drug therapy is very conservative and begins in the initial phase with simple medications.
The principles of treatment include the administration of herbal medicines as well as all kinds of manual work (hot and cold air balloons, cupping, various massages, leech therapy, acupressure, etc.).
Nowadays, modern medicine – although very well accepted in the country – is used by many Iranians together with PTM.
Bioloving uses these synergies of innovation and tradition with a wide range of solutions for a healthy, sustainable lifestyle combined with active prevention.
